Photos from Bike MS NYC 2009
Here’s the starting line on the West side of Manhattan at 7:15 Sunday morning. Stretch!

The first part of the ride was a loop around Manhattan on the West Side Highway, the FDR and the Harlem River Drive. Flat, traffic-free and super-fast. Here’s the first rest stop up in Inwood Hill Park.

These next two pictures show cyclists lining up for the Lincoln Tunnel. This ride is the only time bikes are allowed in the tunnel.

Those of us on the 100-mile route rode into New Jersey, then crossed the border into New York state. Hello Rockland!

My dad (pictured) and our friend Don (taking the picture) came all the way from Maryland to meet me at the finish line!
