Sun. Oct. 12, 2003 - Monkey at Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, Bharatpur

Just before dusk, we drove to this park and boarded cycle rickshaws pedaled by a couple of expert birdwatchers. These guys took us out into a swampy area, where we saw cranes, herons, spoonbills, and other birds, as well as jackals, monkeys, and a giant monitor lizard. A sign at the entrance warned us that a tiger was present in the park, but the tiger apparently keeps to himself. "Use me," by the way, is the standard label put on trash cans.
